From Dr. Martirano's March 25th Update: As we plan for continuity of learning, we request that all HCPSS families complete the HCPSS Student Technology Survey. We are working on securing a limited number of chromebooks and we will do our best to accommodate all families. We are asking parents who have technology and access available at home to indicate so on the first question. Parents who do not have devices or internet access at home should indicate so on the first question and complete the remaining questions.
While community health and safety is our first priority, we wanted you to be aware of some instructional online resources that may help you to support your student at home.
Instructional resources have been created for each grade level as an option for students to use while at home. These guides are designed to provide ideas for engaging students in learning activities while schools may be closed for inclement weather or other unexpected events. While the activity ideas listed do not represent the same level of instruction that occurs in our schools, they are intended to help keep our students intellectually active while they are at home. They will not be collected or graded. While our community health and safety are our first priority, we wanted to make sure you were aware of online resources for your family at home.
When you click on this link https://hcpss.instructure.com/courses/34447 you will find a list of grade levels on the left hand sidebar. Click on the goldenrod button (that grade level's navigation bar) which is near the right corner of the page. You will see a drop down menu with specific topics. This will lead you to suggestions for practice at home, explanation of standards, external resources, and apps across subject areas. If you go to "What Your Child Will Learn" you can also see quarterly objectives or topics for each grade level.
Additionally, students can access these electronic resources using their student login:
