Online Pre-K and LTP Application & Registration Pre-K applications begins 3/15

The HCPSS Pre-K program is a high-quality, half-day prekindergarten program. Students must be four years old by September 1, 2024 to be considered for enrollment in fall 2024. The comprehensive curriculum taught by certified staff supports early learning and school readiness and provides experiences that foster children’s academic, social, emotional and physical development. Students must be four years old by September 1. The Maryland State Department of Education requires that the Pre-K program be made available first to students who meet first priority criteria: income eligible, homelessness and foster care. When space allows, other applicants who meet the second priority criteria may be accepted. However, space is dependent upon current countywide enrollment. Most often, applicants that do not meet the first priority criteria will not be accepted. Parent(s)/guardian(s) of prospective Pre-K students will now have two options for submitting their Pre-K application and beginning the enrollment process. Option 1 Parent(s)/guardian(s) submit a Pre-K application via email or USPS for decision based on eligibility guidelines. If accepted, parent(s)/guardian(s) can begin the enrollment process online and upload their program acceptance letter as proof of income. 2020-2021 Pre-K Application 2021-2022 Pre-K Application Option 2 Parent(s)/guardian(s) begin the Online Registration Process. Once parent(s)/guardian(s) submit their information and documentation through the online portal, their information goes into the school queue to determine if students meet first priority criteria. Learning Together Program (LTP) HCPSS’ Learning Together Program helps develop kindergarten readiness skills for children, ages 3 and 4, with and without disabilities. The Learning Together Program has served the HCPSS community for more than 25 years, by offering young children opportunities to play and learn with each other, and benefit from a diverse and stimulating classroom environment. Children must be age 3 by 9/1 for 3 year old class, and 4 by 9/1 for 4 year old class.
