We are excited to announce that our 5th graders will have the opportunity to participate in Howard County Public Schools’ Battle of the Books (BOB)! This event celebrates reading, teamwork, and critical thinking as students prepare to compete in a lively book-based competition.
Please review the following important dates for the 2025–2026 Battle of the Books season:
- October 7, 2025 (7:00 pm): Information Meeting via Zoom (recorded)
- October 14, 2025 (10:00 am): Registration Opens (closes at capacity or by November 3, 2025 at 11:59 pm)
- November 18, 2025 (7:00 pm): Mandatory Coach Meeting via Zoom (recorded)
- November 19, 2025 (6:00–8:00 pm): Mandatory Coach Meeting & Book Pick-Up I (Miller Branch)
- November 21, 2025 (4:00–5:00 pm): Book Pick-Up II
- November 22, 2025 (11:00 am–1:00 pm): Book Pick-Up III
- February 2, 2026: Permission Forms Due & Last Day to Change Team Info
- March 24, 2026: Mandatory Logistics Meeting via Zoom
- March 27, 2026: Team Digital Poster Upload Due
- Early April 2026: (New!) Bauder / BOB Author Event (TBD)
- April 24, 2026: Battle of the Books Event
Any student wishing to participate can obtain to team and coach form from either Mr. Tu or Mr. Yoo at the Media Center or make a copy from here.
