WHO IS THE HHES PTA?

We are parents, teachers and community members who have an interest in the children, families and staff of Hanover Hills Elementary School.  We all share a commitment to improving the education, health, and safety of all children. We speak with one voice for every child.

WHY JOIN THE HHES PTA?

There are many great reasons for joining the HHES PTA, including the following:

  • Support, through membership dues, the total cost of many fun and educational programs and activities made available for ALL HHES students and families.
  • Become a member of the largest and oldest child advocacy organization in the America.

More reasons:

  • Get Connected ~ There's no better way to know what's happening in your school.
  • Tap into a Network ~ Parenting is not easy - it helps to share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discuss issues.
  • Watch Yourself Grow ~ By volunteering with the PTA, you gain valuable experiences. It's an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause - your child and their peers.
  • Speak Up ~ Because the PTA is a forum for idea exchange and advocacy, PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change.
  • Witness Improvement ~ By getting involved in PTA, you'll help make positive changes. Local PTA's play an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events - all vital to a school's success.
  • Be a Role Model ~ As a PTA member, you demonstrate to your child the importance you place on education.

WHAT DOES THE HANOVER HILLS ELEMENTARY PTA DO FOR YOU, THE STUDENTS OF HANOVER HILLS, THE TEACHERS AND THE SCHOOL?

The Hanover Hills PTA plans, supports and/or funds the following three focus areas:

Volunteer

Confidentiality Training Course: Part 1 (Volunteers must complete both Part I and II in order to receive clearance.)

Thank you for your interest in volunteering within the Howard County School System! We value our volunteers and the contributions they make to our students and schools.

According to HCPSS Board Policy, all parent volunteers must complete a Confidentiality Training Course about protecting the privacy of our students, staff, and schools.

View the brief training presentation and print out a certificate of completion

Child Abuse/Neglect Training Course: Part II

Maryland State Law requires that Volunteers, including Parent Volunteers, complete annual Child Abuse Training prior to serving as a volunteer in any school. Child Abuse Training provides volunteers with the opportunity to learn about child abuse reporting procedures when abuse is suspected.

We are asking that each of our volunteers complete Child Abuse Training prior to volunteering. If you have not yet completed the training, please use this link to view the attached PowerPoint presentation.  Once you have viewed each slide, please fill our the form and return it to Hanover Hills ES.

Thank you again for your participation in our school and helping to ensure that each of our students remains safe.
